Three washed-out bridges, one summer, and a trail crew of local teens.
Last fall’s atmospheric river took out three footbridges on the lower glacier trail, and hikers have been fording a braided meltwater creek ever since. This summer a crew of local high-school students, led by two seasoned trail builders, will rebuild all three with rot-resistant cedar on new concrete footings set above the flood line.
Every gift through the end of the campaign is matched dollar for dollar by the Harbor Light Foundation, up to $75,000. You can also point your gift at the part of the project you care about most: the bridges themselves, tools and materials, or paying the youth crew a fair wage.
